Scarce being one of only 23 possible examples that have been removed from the imprimatur sheet (the very first approved printing sheet), many of which are in institutional collections. Plate 8 was put to press and registered on 31 July 1840. Its earliest known use is 5 September. Provenance: Ex. "Verus". SG Catalogue
