In Arab countries, the women used to wear these Telia Rumals as head scarves also. This fabric gave them a cool feel during blazing summers, and in winters, it kept them warm. These rumals were patronised by Nizams of Hyderabad, who commissioned elaborate pieces. It also resulted into creation of sarees for Indian women
